Lake Ontario Contracting started as a deck sanding and staining business when the two founders were in high school. A shared work ethic, a love of building things well, and a stubborn insistence on finishing projects properly turned it into a full-scope carpentry and outdoor-living contractor across the Lake Ontario corridor.
We started small, and we stayed close to the work. That means the person who shows up to the site visit is one of the people who’ll actually be swinging a hammer when the build starts. No handoffs to a crew you’ve never met. No surprise substitutions on materials. If we quote cedar, you get cedar.
Over the years we’ve expanded from decks into pergolas, fences, exterior carpentry, interior renovations, drywall, trim, flooring, and glass + window + door installation. Every service we offer, we offer because we got asked for it enough times by past clients, and because we built out the discipline to do it as well as we do decks.
What a Lake Ontario Contracting engagement looks like
It starts with a phone call or a form submission on this site. We respond within one business day — usually same day. We book a free site visit at a time that works for you, come out, walk the project with you, measure, and sketch two or three options on the spot.
Within 72 hours of the visit you get a written quote with every material option itemized — so you can see exactly what cedar costs versus pressure-treated versus composite, or what a cedar privacy fence costs versus horizontal plank versus aluminum ornamental. You pick on your own terms.
If you move forward, we handle the permit (where required), order materials, schedule the build around your family’s calendar, and work the site cleanly. Site is swept at end-of-day every day. One point of contact for the whole engagement — not a different crew every morning.
The standard of work hasn’t changed
We’re still that pair of friends who care about getting a deck finish right the first time, who’d rather spend an extra day on prep than get a callback at year two. The scale has grown. The standard hasn’t.
